Turbo Launcher User Guide
Welcome to Turbo Launcher.
Turbo Launcher lets you start your desktop and web applications in an isolated Secure Sandbox environment. This helps protect your device and data while still letting you work as usual. Your organization’s administrators manage all of the security and configuration behind the scenes.
What You'll Learn
- How to launch applications from the Applications tab
- How to use the Sessions tab to relaunch apps and reset stuck sessions
- How to work with files and Storage Contexts in the Files tab
- How to use Turbo Drive for cloud storage access
- Where to find user-facing troubleshooting steps
How Turbo Launcher Works
Turbo Launcher changes how applications run on your device.
- Secure Sandbox isolation: When you launch an app from Turbo Launcher, it runs in an isolated environment (a secure sandbox) instead of running directly on your desktop.
- On-demand app import (first run): The first time you launch a native app, Turbo brings that app into the sandbox at launch time so it can run with the right isolation and policy controls. Later launches reuse that imported app.
- Different network access than non-sandboxed apps: Apps launched from Turbo Launcher use policy-controlled networking (for example, secure proxies and ZTNA-style routing). This can give sandboxed apps access to internal resources your normal apps cannot reach, or it can block destinations that your normal apps can reach.
Getting around Turbo Launcher
Turbo Launcher is a desktop app with a simple, tabbed interface.
- Applications – Browse and launch the apps your organization has made available.
- Sessions – Relaunch apps you’ve already started and reset local session data when an app is stuck.
- Files – View and manage files in your secure sandbox storage.
- About – View Turbo Client and VM version information.
You may also see dialogs such as Proxy Settings when checking connectivity.
Selecting a Site
If your organization enables Sites, you’ll see a Sites selector in the top-right header.
- Choose the site where the resource you want to use exists (for example, network shares, proxies, or application backends).
- Your selection is saved and persists across launches. It won’t be changed by auto selection.
- If you haven’t selected a site yet, the Launcher may choose an initial site automatically. You can change it any time from the dropdown.
Changing the active site affects all tabs and launch behaviors:
- Applications: The list updates to show items available for the selected site. When you launch an app, it starts using the configuration for that site. If an existing session already exists for that site, the Launcher reuses it.
- Sessions: The list of active sessions is filtered to show only those running in the currently selected site.
- Files: The file list updates for the site. If you open a file, the Launcher uses the corresponding file association application configured for that site.
::: note If you don’t see the selector, your organization hasn’t enabled Sites. :::

TIP
If an app won’t launch or behaves unexpectedly, the first thing to try is often deleting its existing session. Use the Sessions tab, right-click the session, then choose Delete.

Use applications
Learn how to browse, launch, and troubleshoot applications from the Applications tab.
This guide covers:
- Finding apps by platform and source (Windows, macOS, Linux, Web)
- Launching apps in the secure sandbox
- Using the right-click context menu (Run, Launch Profiles, Run in Diagnostic Mode)
- Using the Sessions tab to relaunch or delete sessions (reset local session data)
If apps are missing or won’t start, see:
Work with files and Turbo Drive
Manage your sandbox files and access cloud storage.
This guide covers:
- Navigating folders in the Files tab
- Switching between Storage Contexts (for example, Personal vs Team Project)
- Importing files and folders via drag-and-drop
- Opening and deleting files
- Using Turbo Drive (
T:on Windows,~/Library/CloudStorage/Turbo Driveon macOS,/mnt/tdriveon Linux) from inside applications

Check proxy and connectivity
When you experience slow connections or connection failures, your help desk may ask you to review proxy status.
- The Proxy Settings dialog shows available proxies, latency, and status.
- You can run tests on individual proxies and switch between Automatic and Manual selection.
